Legendary gear

Turn Super gear into Legendary gear with Epic materials, and learn all 26 Legendary effects.

What Legendary gear is

Legendary gear is the top equipment tier on Nox. An Epic material turns a Super piece of equipment (or any garment) into the Legendary version of the same item.

The item keeps its plus level, sockets, gems, binding and weapon skill. It also gains one Legendary effect that depends on the kind of item: bleeding blades, mana-draining scepters, a shield that halves area damage, boots that shrug off a player's hit, and more. There are 26 Legendary effects in total.

Legendary items glow gold on the ground and in your bag, and their tooltip lists the effect.

Epic materials

MaterialUpgrade chanceHow you get it
Epic Dragon Ball100%A 1 in 50,000,000 roll on a monster kill. On an ordinary monster on a hunting map, the roll wakes the Epic Dragon instead of dropping the ball. You get the ball itself when it rolls on a boss or on a map that is not a hunting map, or when an Epic Dragon ends with nobody fighting it (the ball goes back to its finder).
Epic Fragment1%A 0.1% (1 in 1,000) roll on every kill of a boss-class monster. The Epic Dragon also gives fragments to its top fighters, and the Epic Market sells 1 per character per day.

Drop rules

RuleValue
Epic Dragon Ball chance1 in 50,000,000 per kill, any monster
Epic Fragment chance0.1% per kill of a boss-class monster
On a boss killThe fragment is rolled first; the Dragon Ball is rolled only if the fragment roll fails
Who can rollKills by a player or a player's pet, on monsters that can drop loot
WhereEverywhere except the Twin City map
Boss-event monstersWorld bosses and the Epic Dragon forms never roll Epic materials; their rewards come from the event

Boss-class monsters include Nemesis Tyrant, SuanNi, FengMeng, Thrilling Spook, Lava Beast, Hollow Beast, Chaos Incarnation, Thunder Dragon, Flying Bat, Bird King, Sand Devil and the Dis City and tower Dominators.

The drop celebration

When an Epic Dragon Ball or an Epic Fragment drops, night falls for 5 seconds on everyone within 18 cells, and the screen shakes. The Epic Dragon Ball also shows its own banner. The whole server sees "*Name* has obtained an Epic Dragon Ball from *Monster*!" (or "…an Epic Fragment…"). The item drops owned by the player who earned it.

How to upgrade

There is no NPC for this. The upgrade window opens from the material itself.

1. Put the Super item (or garment) you want to upgrade in your bag. Worn items can't be upgraded, so take it off first.
2. Right-click the Epic material in your bag. The Legendary Upgrade window opens and shows the success rate.
3. Choose the equipment and confirm.
4. The material is used up on every attempt. On success the item becomes Legendary. On failure the equipment stays exactly as it was.

RuleDetail
RollOne roll per attempt, at the material's chance (100% or 1%)

Tips

  • Put Epic Fragments on your cheapest acceptable Super piece first. A failed attempt only costs the fragment.
  • Epic materials never roll on the Twin City map or from boss-event monsters. Hunt boss-class monsters such as the Nemesis Tyrant for the 0.1% fragment chance.
  • Concussion and Cripple don't work on bosses, and the boss budget caps Legendary bonuses at +40% of a hit. Pick PvE gear with that in mind.
  • Warrior Armor only works while you stand still. Moving resets the timer.
  • Keep bound fragments for bound gear. A bound material can't go onto unbound gear.
