What Legendary gear is
Legendary gear is the top equipment tier on Nox. An Epic material turns a Super piece of equipment (or any garment) into the Legendary version of the same item.
The item keeps its plus level, sockets, gems, binding and weapon skill. It also gains one Legendary effect that depends on the kind of item: bleeding blades, mana-draining scepters, a shield that halves area damage, boots that shrug off a player's hit, and more. There are 26 Legendary effects in total.
Legendary items glow gold on the ground and in your bag, and their tooltip lists the effect.
Epic materials
| Material | Upgrade chance | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
Epic Dragon Ball | 100% | A 1 in 50,000,000 roll on a monster kill. On an ordinary monster on a hunting map, the roll wakes the Epic Dragon instead of dropping the ball. You get the ball itself when it rolls on a boss or on a map that is not a hunting map, or when an Epic Dragon ends with nobody fighting it (the ball goes back to its finder). |
Epic Fragment | 1% | A 0.1% (1 in 1,000) roll on every kill of a boss-class monster. The Epic Dragon also gives fragments to its top fighters, and the Epic Market sells 1 per character per day. |
Drop rules
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
Epic Dragon Ball chance | 1 in 50,000,000 per kill, any monster |
Epic Fragment chance | 0.1% per kill of a boss-class monster |
| On a boss kill | The fragment is rolled first; the Dragon Ball is rolled only if the fragment roll fails |
| Who can roll | Kills by a player or a player's pet, on monsters that can drop loot |
| Where | Everywhere except the Twin City map |
| Boss-event monsters | World bosses and the Epic Dragon forms never roll Epic materials; their rewards come from the event |
Boss-class monsters include Nemesis Tyrant, SuanNi, FengMeng, Thrilling Spook, Lava Beast, Hollow Beast, Chaos Incarnation, Thunder Dragon, Flying Bat, Bird King, Sand Devil and the Dis City and tower Dominators.
The drop celebration
When an Epic Dragon Ball or an Epic Fragment drops, night falls for 5 seconds on everyone within 18 cells, and the screen shakes. The Epic Dragon Ball also shows its own banner. The whole server sees "*Name* has obtained an Epic Dragon Ball from *Monster*!" (or "…an Epic Fragment…"). The item drops owned by the player who earned it.
How to upgrade
There is no NPC for this. The upgrade window opens from the material itself.
1. Put the Super item (or garment) you want to upgrade in your bag. Worn items can't be upgraded, so take it off first.
2. Right-click the Epic material in your bag. The Legendary Upgrade window opens and shows the success rate.
3. Choose the equipment and confirm.
4. The material is used up on every attempt. On success the item becomes Legendary. On failure the equipment stays exactly as it was.
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Roll | One roll per attempt, at the material's chance (100% or 1%) |
| Fragments don't combine | Each Epic Fragment is a separate 1% attempt. Ten fragments give about a 9.6% chance that at least one works; on average it takes 100. |
| Eligible gear | Super quality only (item ID ends in 9) and on the list below. Garments may be any quality. |
| Already Legendary | Can't be upgraded again |
| Material | One single piece, not a stack |
| Binding | A bound material only works on bound equipment |
| Not allowed | Items in a trade or booth, broken items (0 durability), and locked or no-trade materials |
| Same effect twice | Wearing two items with the same effect doesn't double it |
| Transformed | Legendary effects are off while you are transformed |

Weapon effects
Boss budget: against a boss, all your Legendary extra damage from one hit (bonus procs and Tornado true damage together) is capped at +40% of that hit.
| Effect | Trigger | vs monsters | vs players | Duration / cooldown | On bosses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bleed | 10% on a physical hit | Loses 5% of max HP every 2.5 s, 3 times | Same | 7.5 s; a new proc refreshes it | 1% per tick instead of 5%; never kills (stops at 1 HP) |
| Concussion | 10% on a physical hit (6% vs players) | Attack speed −20% | Attack speed −12% | 3 s; 6 s cooldown | Immune |
| Cripple | 10% on a physical hit (6% vs players) | Moves 30% slower | Moves 20% slower | 3 s; 6 s cooldown | Immune |
| Mana Burn | Every hit on a player | No effect | Burns 2% of the target's mana (max 1,000) and adds half of it as damage | – | – |
| Chain Strike | 15% on a plain attack (10% vs players) | A second strike hits the nearest other enemy within 3 cells for 30% of your hit | 20% of your hit | Once per 1 s at most | Boss budget |
| Exhaust | 10% on a physical hit on a player | – | Target loses 20 stamina and regains none | 3 s; 6 s cooldown | – |
| Hunter's Mark | Every physical hit | Your teammates (not you) deal +5% to the target | +3% | 5 s, refreshed by each hit | Boss budget |
| Volley | 8% on a plain attack (5% vs players) | An extra arrow hits the nearest other enemy within 3 cells for 50% of your hit | 30% | Once per 1 s at most | Boss budget |
Extra hits from Chain Strike and Volley never trigger another Legendary effect and follow normal PK rules. Skills never trigger Chain Strike or Volley; only plain attacks do.

The Epic Market
| NPC | EpicMerchant, Twin City (297,304), beside CaptorZhang |
| Sells | Epic Fragment |
| Price | 10,000 CPs + 100,000,000 silver per fragment. Only normal CPs count, not bound CPs. |
| Daily limit | 1 per character per day. The day resets at midnight server time; the window shows a countdown. |
| Stock | Shared by the whole server and shown live in the window. It is refilled by the Epic Dragon event and carries over. |
| Rules | Stand next to the NPC, have your second password unlocked and keep a free bag slot. Bought fragments are unbound. |
Tips
- Put Epic Fragments on your cheapest acceptable Super piece first. A failed attempt only costs the fragment.
- Epic materials never roll on the Twin City map or from boss-event monsters. Hunt boss-class monsters such as the Nemesis Tyrant for the 0.1% fragment chance.
- Concussion and Cripple don't work on bosses, and the boss budget caps Legendary bonuses at +40% of a hit. Pick PvE gear with that in mind.
- Warrior Armor only works while you stand still. Moving resets the timer.
- Keep bound fragments for bound gear. A bound material can't go onto unbound gear.
